DETAILS:
On September 12, 2012, at approx. 0830 hrs, the Oxnard Police Department was notified of a group of individuals that were blocking multiple delivery driveways at the Seminis facility located at 2700 Camino Del Sol in Oxnard. Officers responded and found three separate groups comprised of nine (9) individuals that had chained themselves to vehicles blocking commercial driveways.
Representatives from Seminis accompanied by officers from the Oxnard Police Department contacted each of the individuals and advised them that they were on private property which was obstructing Seminis' ability to receive deliveries and were subject to arrest for trespassing if they refused to leave. After several hours, the individuals refused to leave the property.
With the assistance of the Oxnard Fire Department, Oxnard Police Officers were able to arrest all nine (9) of the individuals and they were each transported to the Oxnard Police Department where they were booked for violation of 602.1(a) P.C. Trespassing.
