CAT OF THE WEEK

Meet Chaplin
updated: Sep 08, 2012, 9:00 AM

This is my cat, Chaplin. Even though his water bowl is always full, he prefers quenching his thirst with water from the betta's bowl. He is 5 years old, a gray & white striped tabby who loves to follow me around. We adopted him from a Res-Q-Cats organization who had themselves set up at PetCo one day. My husband and I fell in love with him and the funny wiggly way he walks. So we called him Chaplin for Charlie Chaplin. He walked with a funny wiggle in all of his movies, just like our kitty!

Chaplin’s favorite thing to do is drink water out of fish bowls, running faucets and other people’s water glasses! He’s quite the talker and you can hear him meowing at me from every room in the house. Sometimes he just meows for the fun of hearing himself speak!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of him. I take lots.

What could be better than fish-flavored water?

My calico decided one day that she wouldn't drink from her bowl anymore, it was running tap water for her from then. The vet said it was normal for older cats to do that. She also started playing with the stream and more than once we were playfully splashed by a shot of water as we walked by!

I rarely comment on the pets of the week, but I love all of them. Chaplin is quite a character! And beautiful.
I suppose you've seen this: "Shower Cat"

We have a white tomcat with extra splay out on his back feet at Greyfoot sanctuary. He is in no way slowed down; I tried catching him one day. Cornering was the only way. Round yellow eyes, great cat.

Chaplin reminds me of my tomcat, named Tom, who died in 2005. Great company was he, I still think of his companionship, even though we have 2 cats now. He recued me! Thanks for sharing!

What a doll! Love his black lips ;)

My cats won't drink from a bowl either since they discovered my spouses bedside water glass. Now they only drink from glasses. I love them, but cats R Freaks!
