Narrative: On the above date and time, Ventura City Fire units were dispatched to a reported vehicle vs.
semi truck. Upon arrival first arriving fire unit found a full size pick-up truck crushed underneath a
semi truck trailer with a victim trapped inside. Fire units on scene managed the medical care of the
victim inside the truck with a firefighter paramedic, while at the same time controlled flammable vehicle
fluids and extricated the victim trapped inside the truck. Firefighters used hydraulic vehicle extrication
tools to remove the vehicle from the victim, peeling back a crumpled dashboard, steering column and
removing the vehicles passenger door to affect the rescue.
As a result of the accident, one adult male victim was transported to a local trauma center for further
medical assessment and treatment. The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the
Ventura Police Department.
