Parolee Arrested

Incident: Battery, Resisting Officers, Wanted PROS parolee Arrest

Location: 100 Block South Kalorama St

Date/Time Occurred: 06-19-12, 0851 hrs Officer(s) Involved: Patrol officers

Victim(s): James Murray, Ventura Resident Suspect(s): Arthur Finnegan, 41yrs, Ventura Resident Report #: 12-7091

Narrative:

On 06-19-12, VPD patrol officers responded to a report of a battery that had just occurred in the 100 block of South Kalorama St. The victim Murray observed the suspect Finnegan rummaging through his recycle can. Murray asked Finnegan to stop. Finnegan became verbally abusive and attacked Murray by punching him. Murray did not suffer any injuries. Finnegan then ran from the area.

As officers arrived, another alert citizen told them that Finnegan was running through yards and jumping fences. Officers located Finnegan in the area of Laurel and Poinsettia Pl and ordered him to stop. He refused and ran from officers who went in a brief foot pursuit. Finnegan was taken into custody without further incident.

It was discovered that Finnegan was a PROS offender (parolee release offender), and had a felony warrant for his arrest reference violating his terms. Finnegan received a minor injury from jumping fences prior to officers contacting him. No officers were injured. Finnegan was medically cleared, and later booked at VCJ for battery, resisting officers, and the felony PROS warrant.
