Oxnard PD Arrest

LOCATION: 1600 BLOCK OF ONEIDA PL.

DETAILS:

On 6-5-12, The Oxnard Police Department took a report of a stolen vehicle in the 1600 block of Oneida Pl. The vehicle was left running in front of the victim's residence. Officers observed the vehicle driving southbound on Ventura Rd at Holly Ave. The suspect, parolee Efren Sarinana, 26 yrs, failed to yield and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. The vehicle began to drive recklessly and the pursuit cancelled a short time later in the interest of public safety. Officers were able to see that the vehicle turned west on Ivywood Dr. from Ventura Rd. Officers searched the area and located the vehicle in the 1500 block of Sophia Ct. A short foot pursuit ensued and the suspect was taken into custody in the 1500 block of Joanne Ct. During the investigation officers learned that the suspect vehicle had crashed into a parked vehicle in the 1500 block of Gina Dr while attempting to flee.

The Oxnard Police Department wishes to remind residents not to leave their vehicles unattended with the keys in the ignition.
