The Rescue Dog - Part II

Well, there sure is a lot of fuss about this weekend. I don't know what the 4th of July is; but, it sure takes a lot of getting prepared for. If you are going to have a lot of people around; please don't forget about me and give me some quiet time so that I can get used to everybody. If you cook outside; can I have some? Are the kids going to be feeding me lots of stuff ? That would be great; except, that it will probably make me sick. I was told by a wise old hound that raisins, grapes, and sugar free gum will make me sick enough to kill me. So, as much as I would like to have oatmeal cookies; I just cannot eat them. I am trusting you to keep me safe and not let anyone feed me things that I should not have.
You know, there has been a lot of noise going on lately. Some of us can handle a lot of noise; but, most of us can't. Please DO NOT lock me in the bathroom where I can get hurt. Don't leave me outside if crazy things are exploding in the sky. What is that, anyway? Sometimes it helps to give us a little Benadryl and turn up the music when the sky is exploding. I don't know why you humans like such scary stuff. I just know that I love having you home for an extra day and I will keep teaching you tricks. I have so much love in my heart for you that it pours out of my eyes.
