Ventura Regional Fire Academy graduates take one step closer to their calling
New trainees showcase skills at a public demonstration event
This week, 24 firefighter trainees will receive badges, marking the end of an intensive 18-week academy. As part of graduation activities, the 53rd academy will host a public demonstration on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Regional Training Center, located on the grounds of the Camarillo Airport at 104 E. Durley Ave.
Recruits will showcase some of the skills learned in the academy in front of an audience of dignitaries, firefighters, friends and family. Live demonstrations include a simulated three-story structure fire, ladder evolutions, patient extrication from a simulated vehicle accident and more.
Ventura County Fire will welcome 21 new firefighters and three recruits will join the City of Ventura Fire Department.

A private graduation ceremony will follow on Friday, March 15, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, located at 2100 E.
