Ventura Regional Fire Academy graduates take one step closer to their calling

New trainees showcase skills at a public demonstration event

This week, 24 firefighter trainees will receive badges, marking the end of an intensive 18-week academy. As part of graduation activities, the 53rd academy will host a public demonstration on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Regional Training Center, located on the grounds of the Camarillo Airport at 104 E. Durley Ave.

Recruits will showcase some of the skills learned in the academy in front of an audience of dignitaries, firefighters, friends and family. Live demonstrations include a simulated three-story structure fire, ladder evolutions, patient extrication from a simulated vehicle accident and more.
