Incident: Resisting Arrest, Felony Vandalism

Narrative:
On the above date and time the Ventura Police Department Command Center received a 911-call reference a subject with a felony PROS warrant that was disturbing in the 1200 block of Petit Avenue. Officers arrived in the area and attempted to contact the suspect Watts. Upon seeing the officers Watts refused verbal commands and took off running through an apartment complex, then into the nearby residential neighborhood.
Arriving officers quickly established a perimeter, and began searching the area. Several times Watts was sighted inside the perimeter and each time he ran and refused to comply with officer's orders. Watts was eventually spotted in the rear yard of a residence on Clinton, and while attempting to flee again, he broke through the roof of an outdoor structure and was captured attempting to climb over a fence. After a brief struggle he was taken into custody.
Watts was taken to VCMC and treated for minor injuries that he sustained during his attempt to escape. He was then booked at VCJ for the above listed charges. No officers or citizens were injured during this incident.
