Narrative:
On the above date and time the Ventura Police Command Center received a call from the
victim stating that an unknown man was inside his house. Prior to officers arrival on scene the
suspect left the home in an unknown direction.
As officers arrived on scene they were told that the suspect had kicked in the front door to
the house and went into the victims bedroom. Once inside the bedroom, the suspect demand
money from the victim who was asleep at the time. The victim refused to give money to the
suspect and a small struggle ensued. During the struggle the victim sustained a small scratch
to his face that did not require any medical attention.
At the same time an officer looking for the suspect in the area of Cachuma and Alexandria saw
a male matching the description walking on the sidewalk. The officer contacted the subject
who was identified as Patrick Finnegan. Finnegan was found to be in possession of property
from the victims house. Finnegan was positively identified by the victim and was arrested for
residential burglary and robbery.
Finnegan was not injured during the incident and was transported to the Ventura County Jail
and booked for the above charges. The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with
