Narrative:
On the above date and time, Ventura City Fire units responded to a reported structure fire at a business
in the 2500 block of Channel Drive. First on scene fire unit reported heavy smoke and fire in a parking
lot to the rear of the business. After making entry through a locked gate, firefighters discovered a boat
fully involved with fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and protected adjacent exposures that included
other parked boats as well as a local business.
Fire units remained on scene performing overhaul of burned contents of the boat. No injuries were
reported as a result of this incident. Cause of the fire is suspicious in nature and remains under
investigation by the Ventura City Fire Department.
