Narrative: At about 7:50 a.m., on today's date, Sheriff's Dispatch received a 911 call involving a 26-year-old male subject, Paul Huynh, who was creating a disturbance. It was reported the Huynh discharged a firearm in the area outside his home then retreated inside. Moorpark deputies were dispatched to the residence in the 100 block of Sierra Avenue.

Deputies arrived and ensured the safety of the neighborhood and evacuated the other occupants of the home. Deputies requested the Ventura County Sheriff's Office S.W.A.T. and Tactical Negotiations Unit (T.N.U.) to respond.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., the Huynh was taken into custody without incident. There were no injuries. Residents in the area were alerted to the incident through the use of the "VC Alert" system.

Detectives with the East County Investigation Unit served a search warrant at the residence and located a firearm and evidence indicating the weapon was discharged. Huynh is being held on $50,000 bail for negligent discharge of a firearm.
