Jesus Arellano Port Hueneme 31
Sheriff's Narcotics Detectives received information that Jesus Arellano was selling methamphetamine from his residence in the 200 block of Willowbrook St in the City of Port Hueneme. A Search Warrant was obtained for Arellano and his residence. On 1/31/2013, Detectives located Arellano driving a Nissan truck in the 5000 block of Perkins Rd. When detectives attempted to detain Arellano, he fled. With emergency lights and sirens, detectives pursued Arellano for several minutes at speeds exceeding 60 mph throughout Port Hueneme. Arellano drove to his residence where he was taken into custody without incident.
A search of Arellano's vehicle and residence revealed approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine, corresponding narcotics sales evidence, and evidence that Arellano was involved in Identity Theft and Fraud. Investigators also found handgun ammunition and a compatible handgun magazine of the same caliber.
While still at the residence, Detectives were contacted by the Port Hueneme Police Department and told that a handgun had been found by a city worker in the street a few blocks from our location. Sheriff's Detectives went to that area and retrieved the weapon. The location was on the route taken by Arellano during the pursuit and was of the same make and caliber of the evidence found at Arellano's residence. It was also discovered that the handgun had been stolen in the City of Ventura.
Arellano was subsequently booked into the Sheriff's Main Jail, bail set at $250,000, for the following charges:
• Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale
• Transportation of Methamphetamine
• Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
• Possession of Handgun While Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
• Possession of Stolen Property (two counts)
• Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia
• Evading a Police Officer/Reckless Driving
• Felon in Possession of a Firearm
