Narrative:
On 01/23/13 at approximately 1120 hours, The Ventura Police Command Center
received a call of a male and female arguing in a parked vehicle in the 2700
Block of Sherwin Ave.
Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the suspect, Johnny Donavan and
the female victim. Officers determined that domestic violence had occurred, and
attempted to arrest Donovan.
Donovan was violent with the Officers and physically resisted before eventually
being taken into custody.
Upon further investigation it was determined that the suspect had been
physically abusing the victim over the past several days, making threats against
her life, and holding her captive against her will. The victim was treated on
scene by Ventura City Fire Department personnel for non-life threatening
injuries. Donovan received minor injuries as a result of him resisting arrest
and was treated at the Ventura County Medical Center.
Donovan was booked at Ventura County Jail for Domestic Violence, Kidnapping,
Terrorist Threats, and Resisting Arrest.
