Narrative: On the above date and time, the Ventura City Fire Department
responded to a vehicle accident with a reported trapped victim. First arriving
fire equipment reported two vehicles involved: one overturned delivery box
truck, and one passenger vehicle. A 25-year-old male was trapped in the driver
seat of the passenger vehicle; occupants in the box truck self-extricated
themselves prior to Fire Department arrival.
Fire paramedics began treating the trapped victim; at the same time other crews
worked to extricate him and control leaking gasoline from the overturned truck.
Ventura Police Department provided traffic control and began investigating the
cause of the accident. The trapped victim was extricated with specialized
hydraulic tools and transported to Ventura County Medical Center by ambulance.
The driver of the truck refused medical care.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Ventura Police
Department. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
