Narrative:
On the above date and time, Ventura City Fire Units responded to a reported structure fire in a local
residential area. Upon arrival, first arriving units found smoke showing from under a structure.
Firefighters entered the residence and after completing a primary and secondary search for occupants,
extinguished a fire in the subfloor of the structure. Firefighters protected the adjoining residences in the
structure and provided ventilation. In addition, Firefighters remained on scene to overhaul the fire;
ensuring that it was completely out. A Fire Investigator was called to the scene and determined that the
cause of the fire was radiated heat from a floor heater, causing pyrolysis to the floor joist. No injuries
were reported as a result of this incident.
