Pedro

This is Pedro, he is a VICIOUS cuddle-monster and face-kisser! If you get within striking distance of his
tongue, he will attack you with kisses! Pedro is a rescue from K9Pals in Goleta and was our Christmas
present to ourselves last year. While he was at the shelter, he was a "float" dog, meaning they would put
him in various kennels with the more aggressive dogs due to his passive, get-along-with-every-dog
nature. Pedro's shyness has come a long way in a year and he has made us smile every day with his antics,
funny expressions and his ability to go from 0-60 in 3 seconds when it's play time!
Pedro likes to run up and down the SB hiking trails, play keep away with his toys (especially at the beach),
and sleep 20+ hours a day in his Pedro-burrito (pictured). He also has a best friend, EB, who came from
K9Pals to live with Pedro's grandparents a little before Pedro came to live with us. She looks just like him
and they love their play-dates!

Pedro sounds and looks amazing. Thank you for looking to a rescue, and adopting a black dog! We have the same Costco bed, and we call it the Taco at our house. I will have to try the Burrito version for our dogs!

Adorable! The best part about rescue dogs is that after a while, you can't tell who rescued whom.... :)

Such joy and happiness. They're both beautiful. Thanks to SB County Animal Shelter, especially their kennel attendants.

I recognize that dog! I think Pedro was called Pepsi when at the SB County Animal Services Dog shelter in Goleta. He was just a pup when he got there, and lots of volunteers had him on their 'favorite' lists. One correction - K9-Pals chose to leave the shelter back in July, 2011. When you adopt a dog at the Goleta Shelter, you are adopting a dog from the County Animal Services - it was never from K9-Pals. They still provide money for much of the extra vet needs to these shelter dogs, but have also chosen to spend donations on dogs from other shelters, outside of Santa Barbara. Pepsi or Pedro - you are a very lucky burrito!

Aw, he's adorable. Thank you so much for adopting and rescuing! Santa Barbara and surrounds amazes me. I'd say about 90% of the people I meet now who have dogs (and that's quite a lot of people, as I walk my dog regularly on the beach or trails), have adopted a rescue. It didn't used to be this way. Santa Barbara (and surrounds) dog people rock! <-- volunteer at D.A.W.G., and failed foster of a D.A.W.G god.
