Narrative:

On December 23rd 2012 at about 1732 hours, Ventura Police Officers on foot patrol in the Pacific View Mall received a report of a possible fall victim from the second level balcony inside the mall. Officers responded to the scene located the fall victim and notified Fire Department personnel for emergency medical treatment. Responding personnel determined the subject jumped from the second floor balcony to the first floor.

The injured subject was transported to Ventura County Medical Center with severe injuries sustained from the fall; the extent of the injuries is unknown at this time. It is also unknown if drugs or alcohol was involved.
