Narrative: Ventura City Fire personnel responded to a report of a residential structure fire. Upon arrival, first arriving units found a homeless camp with a cooking fire that had escaped the containment area. The fire had spread to multiple palm trees, a large eucalyptus tree and threatened a nearby structure. Firefighters made an aggressive attack and protected the structure with very minimal damage caused by the fire. A fire investigator determined the cause and origin to be from the cooking fire in the homeless camp. No injuries were reported.
