Incident: Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrests

Date/Time Occurred: 12/04/12 @ 1735 hrs

(V2) Ryan Langley 19 yrs, Ventura Resident
Suspect(s): (S1) Male Juvenile, 17 yrs, Ventura Resident
(S2) Male Juvenile, 15 yrs, Ventura Resident
Narrative:
On the above date and time, the Ventura Police Command Center received several
calls of a large fight in the area of Petit and Halifax. As Ventura Police
Patrol officers were responding to the area, additional calls to the command
center advised there was a stabbing victim in front of one of the stores in the
area of Telephone and Petit. Officers, along with Ventura City Fire and AMR
personnel, responded to the call and found (V1) Turner in front of a store,
suffering from several non-life threatening stab wounds to his torso. He was
transported to VCMC for treatment of his injuries. The suspects fled prior to
officers arriving on scene but were located a short distance away by responding
officers and positively identified.
During the investigation, officers learned that (V1) Turner and (V2) Langley got
into a verbal argument with the two juvenile suspects, who they are acquainted
with. The argument escalated, and (S1) the 17-year-old male juvenile stabbed
(V1) Turner, several times with a knife and (S2) the 15-year-old male juvenile
hit (V2) Langley, in the head with a skateboard during the altercation. (V2)
Langley was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The two male juvenile suspects were uninjured during this incident and booked
into Ventura County Juvenile Hall for Assault with a deadly weapon
