Narrative: On the above date and time, Ventura City Fire units were dispatched to a reported structure fire. First arriving Engine Company reported a smoke charged residence; as they accessed the building they noted smoke coming from the kitchen area. Firefighters found products in an oven broiler burning. After extinguishing the fire and removing the smoke, investigation revealed that a vacuum cleaner filter was placed in the oven to dry.
Fire cause was determined to be from combustible material in the oven. Damage was limited to the oven unit and smoke damage inside the residence. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
