On 11/30/12, at approximately 1253 hrs, the Ventura Police Command Center received a call from the victim reporting that her vehicle had just been stolen from the parking lot of the Ventura Aquatic Center in the 900 block of Kimball Rd. The investigation revealed the victim had lost her keys while running in the park and when she returned to her vehicle, she saw the unknown suspect fleeing in the vehicle. Officers followed the vehicle to where Coombes pulled in the parking lot of a business in the 10900 block of Telegraph rd. and fled on foot from the vehicle. After a brief foot pursuit, Coombes was taken into custody without further incident. Grider was detained near the vehicle.

After being identified by the victim, Coombes was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail for vehicle theft, resisting arrest, possession of narcotic paraphernalia and warrants. Grider was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
