Incident: Elder Abuse/Scam Investigation

Victim(s): 90 year old female, Ventura resident
Suspect(s): Unknown age white male adult, 6-0 clean-shaven.

Narrative:
During the week prior to 11-27-12, the victim received multiple phone calls from an unidentified
male who asked for help with an in-house investigation at a local bank branch. At the above
date and time, the man asked the victim to withdraw a large amount of cash from her own
bank account. The victim was instructed to take the money to the parking lot of the Pacific
View Mall and wait for an associate of the caller to take the money.
The victim did as instructed. She withdrew the cash from her bank and drove to the Pacific
View Mall where she parked and waited. A man did approach her vehicle and asked her for
the money. The victim handed over the money then drove home. The victim contacted her
bank later that afternoon and discovered that she had been the victim of a scam.
The victim was not hurt during this crime and the investigation is ongoing. The suspects were
